How damage disputes and claims are handled for rentals arranged through the Rydemor platform.

48-Hour Claim Window

All damage claims must be submitted by the Host within 48 hours of the rental end time. Claims submitted after this deadline may be rejected unless exceptional circumstances are demonstrated.

Marketplace Status

Rydemor is a technology intermediary only. • We do not own vehicles. • We do not insure vehicles. • We are not a party to rental contracts. • We do not determine legal fault. Damage liability primarily rests between the Host and the Renter. Rydemor may facilitate communication but is not obligated to adjudicate disputes.

Pre-Rental Condition Requirements

2.1 Host Documentation

Before each rental, Hosts must upload timestamped photos or video showing:

  • Exterior (all sides)
  • Interior
  • Odometer reading
  • Fuel level
  • Existing scratches or dents

Failure to document pre-rental condition may weaken a damage claim.

2.2 Renter Inspection

Before taking possession, Renters must:

  • Inspect the vehicle
  • Confirm visible damage in the app (if feature available)
  • Report discrepancies immediately

Failure to report pre-existing damage before departure may result in presumed acceptance of vehicle condition.

Reporting Damage

3.1 Immediate Reporting Obligation

If an accident or damage occurs, the Renter must:

  1. 1.Notify the Host immediately
  2. 2.Notify Rydemor through the Platform
  3. 3.Report to police where legally required
  4. 4.Avoid admitting fault without proper documentation

Failure to report promptly may affect claim eligibility.

3.2 Claim Submission Deadline

Hosts must submit damage claims within:

48 hours after rental end time

Claims submitted after this period may be rejected unless exceptional circumstances exist.

Required Claim Evidence

A damage claim must include: • Pre-rental documentation • Post-rental documentation • Description of damage • Repair quotation from a licensed repair center • Police report (if applicable) • Insurance claim reference (if applicable) Incomplete claims may be declined.

Platform Review Process

Rydemor may: • Temporarily hold payout funds • Review submitted documentation • Request additional evidence • Facilitate negotiation between parties Rydemor: • Does not act as a court • Does not determine legal liability • Does not guarantee recovery Platform review decisions are administrative and not legally binding determinations of fault.

Insurance Claims

6.1 Host Primary Insurance

Hosts are primarily responsible for filing claims under their own motor insurance policies. Rydemor is not responsible for: • Insurance claim denial • Coverage exclusions • Deductibles • Claim processing delays

6.2 Optional Additional Coverage (If Available)

If optional platform-arranged insurance applies: • Claims must be submitted directly to the insurer • Coverage is subject to insurer terms • Deductibles and exclusions may apply Rydemor does not guarantee claim approval.

Security Deposits (If Applicable)

If a security deposit system is implemented: • Deposits may be held temporarily • Deductions require documented evidence • Renters must be informed before deductions Disputes may be reviewed administratively but remain contractual matters between Host and Renter.

Wear and Tear Exclusion

Normal wear and tear is not considered damage. This includes: • Minor stone chips • Small tire wear • Minor interior scuffing • Mechanical wear consistent with ordinary use Claims for ordinary wear may be rejected.

Fraud Prevention

If fraudulent damage claims or staged incidents are suspected: • Accounts may be suspended • Funds may be withheld • Authorities may be notified • Legal action may be initiated Fraudulent activity voids eligibility for platform assistance.

Limitation of Platform Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under Sri Lankan law, Lithic Labs (Pvt) Ltd shall not be liable for: • Vehicle damage • Personal injury • Loss of use • Diminished vehicle value • Insurance deductibles • Consequential damages Total platform liability shall not exceed total service fees paid in the previous six (6) months.

Dispute Resolution

Damage disputes are primarily contractual disputes between Host and Renter. Where legal action is pursued: • Rydemor is not a necessary party to proceedings • Disputes shall be governed by Sri Lankan law • Arbitration provisions under the Terms of Service apply

Policy Modification

Rydemor reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of revisions.

Acknowledgement

By using the Rydemor platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Damage & Claims Policy, and agree to comply with its terms in the event of any vehicle damage or dispute.
